Hi everyone, Winter always brings the same conversations into the shop: "I didn't know it was about to die." "I wish I'd learned this sooner." "I thought that was normal." Cars rarely fail without warning and most of us were just never taught what the warning looks like. In this month's update: • Why batteries fail in extreme cold • A different kind of Valentine's idea (learn together) • What's changing behind the scenes at AutoCate | | ❄️February Feature❄️ WHY CARS DIE IN THE COLD | | At -18°C, your battery can lose up to half its starting power, while your engine needs more energy to turn over. That's why a car that was fine yesterday suddenly won't start today. | | To avoid getting stranded: • Drive at least 15–20 minutes occasionally (short trips don't recharge fully) • If your battery is 4–5+ years old, get it tested before it fails • Turn off heaters, seats, and fans before shutting the car off • Keep booster cables or a booster pack in the vehicle • Slow cranking is a warning — don't ignore it | | Cold failures usually give clues — you just have to know what they mean. We cover this step-by-step in Drive Confident so winter becomes predictable instead of stressful. | | 💕 FEBRUARY BONUS: BRING YOUR RIDE OR DIE 💕 We've noticed something lately: People are showing up to workshops in pairs. Partners, friends, parents & teens, roommates — even coworkers. Confidence builds faster when you learn it with someone you trust. This month, bring someone — romantic or otherwise — and you'll both leave knowing: • what's urgent vs what can wait • how to talk to a shop confidently • what your car is actually telling you Independence doesn't mean doing everything alone. Sometimes it means sharing the same knowledge. 👯 Ride-or-Die Promo: Second seat 50% off (any workshop level, same session) | | BEHIND THE SCENES AT AUTOCATE | | We've been working toward something important: making AutoCate bigger, so we can offer you more services. Maggie (who started as our apprentice ) is now nearly licensed and taking on more repair work. That means more support for customers, and more time for us to teach, build resources, and help people before problems happen. Join us in congratulating Maggie in completing school and writing her provincial qualifying exam for fully licenced technician status! | | | | Send Your Love with AutoCate! Maggie's put their creativity and design into helping you fuel your love, please download and share :) | | "Keep those wheels spinning, my turbo trendsetters!" ❤️ Cate
