WHY CARS DIE IN THE COLD

At -18°C, your battery can lose up to half its starting power, while your engine needs more energy to turn over.

That's why a car that was fine yesterday suddenly won't start today.

To avoid getting stranded:

• Drive at least 15–20 minutes occasionally (short trips don't recharge fully)
• If your battery is 4–5+ years old, get it tested before it fails
• Turn off heaters, seats, and fans before shutting the car off
• Keep booster cables or a booster pack in the vehicle
• Slow cranking is a warning — don't ignore it

Cold failures usually give clues — you just have to know what they mean.
